An all-star cast from the Met Opera Orchestra joins together for Schubert’s great Octet, the movements of which will be interspersed with songs – as one might have heard in its original context. The widely admired Met Opera tenor Paul Appleby (“virile and vulnerable…excellent,” New York Times) joins concertmaster David Chan (“compelling,” New York Times); the new principal clarinetist, Inn-Hyuck Cho; principals Rafael Figueroa (cello), Rex Surany (bass), William Short (bassoon), and others for the ultimate Schubertiade.
